New Marvel Trailer"s Scarlet Witch Footage Is An Insult If It Doesn"t Lead To What We All Want

If Agatha All Along doesn’t follow up on their Scarlet Witch tease, it’ll be an insult to the character. A big question that MCU fans have had about the series since its announcement was whether Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch would make an appearance. The character was last seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, traveling the multiverse to try to get her children back after the events of WandaVision. In the end, Wanda sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold, and Marvel has since confirmed Scarlet Witch died.
The new Agatha All Along trailer uses footage of Scarlet Witch in Multiverse of Madness, and past trailers have heavily implied that the show will be about resurrecting Wanda through the Witches’ Road. If the show just wanted to reference Agatha’s past ties with Scarlet Witch, they would’ve used WandaVision footage instead of a project that Agatha had no part in. After all of this Scarlet Witch build-up, it’ll be a real insult to fans and the character if she doesn’t appear even once in Agatha All Along.

The Agatha All Along Trailer Using Scarlet Witch Footage Better Mean She's In The Show Close Agatha is in her current MCU situation because of Scarlet Witch, but Agatha All Along is ultimately her solo show. When the series was first announced, it was heavily pushed that Elizabeth Olsen wouldn’t be reprising her WandaVision role in the sequel show, and her character’s Multiverse of Madness death all but confirmed that. However, quite a few Agatha All Along trailers and teasers have referred to Wanda, even going as far as to include past footage of her. At this point, Scarlet Witch not appearing in Agatha All Along will be more of an insult than a disappointment.
Using Wanda to promote Agatha All Along if she ends up playing no part in the series is disrespectful to the character. Wanda is still an incredibly popular character among fans, so her sudden death didn’t sit right with a lot of people. Multiverse of Madness handled Wanda’s character arc incredibly poorly, considering how great of a job WandaVision did in building her up to become the Scarlet Witch. Marvel disrupting a beloved character’s legacy to promote a show she doesn’t appear in would be the biggest insult, especially since her death was handled so poorly.
Marvel Needs To Resurrect Scarlet Witch In The MCU Now More Than Ever Marvel truly does need to resurrect Scarlet Witch now more than ever. The hope that Wanda’s unfortunate end will be retconned is pervasive, and there is no better place than Agatha All Along to do so. The biggest issue with Scarlet Witch’s Multiverse of Madness death was that it felt like a rushed afterthought, with many not even certain that she did die until Marvel confirmed it in a book months later. The MCU won’t have a better premise than Agatha All Along to resurrect Scarlet Witch, and a TV series will ensure that there’s more time to actually flesh out her arc.

If not for the character’s legacy, the MCU needs to at least resurrect Scarlet Witch for the upcoming Avengers movies. The Avengers will need all the help they can get in their fight against Doctor Doom. Wanda was already one of the strongest Avengers before she became the Scarlet Witch, and now she has multiverse knowledge on top of her magical strength. As a prominent multiversal figure, she would be a much-needed asset to the team. Agatha All Along has built up so much Scarlet Witch anticipation that it’ll truly be an insult if it doesn’t amount to anything.
