- The scene was removed due to the flow of the film's final act, but may be included in the home release for fans to enjoy.
Ryan Reynolds has officially commented on Deadpool & Wolverine's missing cameo. In the era of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel is no stranger to major cameos in movies. Deadpool & Wolverine's Marvel cameos proved this, with the TVA's involvement leading to variants of both titular characters appearing throughout. By the time of Deadpool & Wolverine's ending, some cameos included Jennifer Garner's Elektra, Channing Tatum's Gambit, Wesley Snipes' Blade, and even Henry Cavill as Wolverine. While upcoming Marvel multiverse movies will likely top this, the cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine were exciting all while fitting with the story's themes.
That said, one of Deadpool & Wolverine's biggest cameos was cut from the final film and has finally been commented on by Ryan Reynolds via Instagram. The cameo in question belonged to Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham A.F.C. partner and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney. McElhenney filmed a moment in Deadpool & Wolverine to build off of the film's multiversal premise and the actor's own real-life connection to Reynolds, but was cut from the final film. Finally, Reynolds has addressed this situation in a hilarious social media post.

Why Rob McElhenney Was Cut From Deadpool & Wolverine & His Cameo Explained McElhenney Was Cut In Order To Make The Film Flow Better Since Deadpool & Wolverine's release, elements of McElhenney's cameo in the film have been revealed. Reynolds' Instagram post gives the biggest insight yet, explaining more about what the cameo initially entailed but also why it was removed from the film. McElhenney appeared in the film as an agent of the TVA, one who fought in the battle of The Void between Deadpool & Wolverine's resistance and Cassandra Nova's forces. Reynolds revealed as much by stating that McElhenney's cameo ended with his character being eaten by Alioth.
The actor also hinted at why the scene was cut. Reynolds states in the post that the sequence was not working as they originally intended and that it only stayed in the cut due to the loyalty the actor holds to McElhenney. However, the TVA's involvement was mostly removed from the battle in The Void, with Deadpool & Wolverine's final act only featuring the duo and their allies going up against Nova's henchmen. As such, McElhenney's TVA agent was a victim of film editing, though Deadpool & Wolverine's home release will likely include the scene for fans willing to witness the unseen cameo.
