Predicting 10 MCU Cameos That Could Be In Daredevil: Born Again After Charlie Cox"s Recent Comments
Summary
- Daredevil: Born Again may include several small cameo appearances from other MCU characters, according to Charlie Cox.
- Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock has made cameo appearances in some other heroes' MCU projects, so these heroes could appear in Daredevil: Born Again.
- Characters such as Echo, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop, Spider-Man and the Defenders, among others, could appear in Daredevil: Born Again.
Charlie Cox has teased that a number of MCU characters could make cameo appearances in Daredevil: Born Again, and there are several possibilities for who could show up in the upcoming Marvel Television series. Daredevil: Born Again will mark Charlie Cox's first solo project as Matt Murdock's Daredevil in the MCU proper, following his debut as the Man Without Fear in Netflix's Daredevil series. Many characters from Daredevil and the Defenders Saga have been confirmed to be returning in Daredevil: Born Again, and they may be joined by some MCU legends.
Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, Charlie Cox revealed that there are "small, fun moments of collision" in Daredevil: Born Again in which characters from the wider world of the MCU may appear. Although he notes that there's "nothing major," the opportunities are endless for who could pop up in the street-level, New York City-based storyline of Daredevil: Born Again. Matt Murdock has made cameo appearances himself in several other heroes' recent MCU projects, so these heroes, and others, could show up in Daredevil: Born Again.
There's a couple of small, fun moments of collision, but nothing major… Collision, I use that word when characters come together, but I don't want to oversell anything and get people too excited.
10 Maya Lopez’s Echo Maya Lopez First Appeared In Hawkeye (2021) Close The fact that Matt Murdock's Daredevil made a brief cameo appearance in 2024's Echo, the MCU's first Marvel Spotlight series, means that it's possible Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez could return the favor. Maya first appeared as a minor antagonist in Hawkeye, seeking revenge on Clint Barton's Ronin for murdering her father during the Blip. Echo turned Maya into a hero in the MCU, however, perhaps creating the opportunity for Echo and Daredevil to team-up in Daredevil: Born Again, rather than fighting each other.
Maya Lopez and Matt Murdock have a common enemy, as Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk is not only Daredevil's long-running adversary, but is also Echo's father-figure. Maya turned her back on Kingpin in Hawkeye, and cemented this change of heart in Echo, so it would be great to see her battle her surrogate father alongside Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again. The series could even develop their own relationship further, as their connection from Marvel Comics hasn't been explored yet in the MCU.
Echo's post-credits scene leads directly into the events of Daredevil: Born Again, as it teased Kingpin's evolution into the Mayor of New York City, so it would be great for Maya Lopez to return to deal with the growing threat her father-figure poses.
9 Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan First Appeared In Ms. Marvel (2022) Close While Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan may seem an unorthodox choice of character to appear in the dark and gritty Daredevil: Born Again, the first footage from the series revealed at this year's D23 establishes a strong connection to the young mutant. Mohan Kapur is set to reprise his role of Yusuf Khan, Kamala Khan's father, in Daredevil: Born Again. While it's unclear exactly what role Yusuf Khan will have in the series, this clearly creates the opportunity for Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel herself to show up alongside Daredevil.
Iman Vellani first appeared as Kamala Khan in 2022's Ms. Marvel, where she gained her hard-light abilities and was revealed to be the MCU's first official on-screen mutant. Since then, Kamala has adventured in space with Captain Marvel and Photon, and has teased the formation of the MCU's Young Avengers team, though little is known about what the future holds for the Young Avengers. If she appears in Daredevil: Born Again, the series could mark some progress for the Young Avengers, and perhaps even reveal more about mutants in the MCU.
2:32 Related The MCU's Most Likely Young Avengers Lineup, Ranked By Power While there are many characters who could join the MCU"s Young Avengers, the team will likely only comprise a few of the most powerful young heroes.
8 Kate Bishop Kate Bishop First Appeared In Hawkeye (2021) Close As a street-level series, it's very likely that some of the MCU's smaller-scale heroes operating in New York will show up in Daredevil: Born Again. This could include Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, who became Clint Barton's protégé in Hawkeye before becoming a hero in her own right. Jeremy Renner's Barton seemed to pass the Hawkeye mantle on to Kate Bishop in his series' finale, though it's unclear whether she is currently operating under this moniker. This is something Daredevil: Born Again could confirm.
Kate Bishop has also been teased as a founding member of the MCU's Young Avengers, as The Marvels' post-credits scene saw her approached by Kamala Khan with the prospect of building the new team. This means that, if Kamala and Kate both appear in Daredevil: Born Again, the Phase 5 series could actively lay the foundations for the Young Avengers' formation. With no dedicated Young Avengers project announced, Daredevil: Born Again and other upcoming MCU movies and shows could do the leg-work in setting up the team.
Kate Bishop also battled Wilson Fisk's Kingpin one-on-one in Hawkeye's finale, so it would make sense for her to appear in Daredevil: Born Again to once again battle Vincent D'Onofrio's villain.
7 Claire Temple Claire Temple First Appeared In Daredevil Season 1 (2015) Close Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple hasn't been confirmed to be returning in the MCU proper, but her prominence in Netflix's Defenders Saga means it would be great to see her come back. Claire Temple had dealings with each of the individual members of the Defenders team in their respective solo shows, and helped the team come together in 2017's The Defenders miniseries. She has a rich history with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, so it would make sense for him to call on her for help when he inevitably gets almost-fatally injured in Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil: Born Again could develop Claire Temple officially into the Night Nurse, a character from Marvel Comics who provides medical assistance to a number of notable superheroes. She performed this role unofficially in the Defenders Saga, helping Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, Misty Knight and others. After Rosario Dawson's popular run in another Disney series, Ahsoka, it would be great to see her rejoin the MCU, and Daredevil: Born Again would be the best place for this to happen.

6 Elektra Natchios Elektra Natchios First Appeared In Daredevil Season 2 (2016) Close A version of Elektra Natchios recently returned to live-action in Deadpool & Wolverine, played by Jennifer Garner, but a different iteration of Elektra is already connected to Charlie Cox's Daredevil. Élodie Yung portrayed Elektra Natchios in Netflix's Defenders Saga, and her performance as the Black Sky was celebrated in the franchise, so it would be great to see her return. Elektra lost her life in Daredevil season 2, but was resurrected for The Defenders, which ultimately left her fate uncertain.
Elektra died and returned both in the Defenders Saga and Marvel Comics, so Daredevil: Born Again could explore Matt Murdock dealing with her demise and the impact of her return much more than The Defenders had time to do. Elektra is one of Matt Murdock's most memorable love interests – of which he has had a few in the MCU already – so her return would create some fantastic conflict for him in Daredevil: Born Again. Élodie Yung has expressed her interest in returning as Elektra (via toofab), so it seems very possible that she could get a reprisal.
Oh my gosh, I would love that. It’s so funny because my fans are like, 'Can you come back?' and I’m like, 'Ask Mr. Marvel, you have to ask Mr. Marvel for that, not me.
5 Netflix’s Defenders Jessica Jones, Matt Murdock, Luke Cage & Danny Rand Formed The Defenders In 2017 Close Alongside Claire Temple and Elektra Natchios, the other members of the Defenders team could also make an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again. Marvel Studios confirmed the Defenders Saga to be canon to the MCU in January, meaning the events of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron First, The Defenders and The Punisher will have an impact on Born Again, and confirming that these titular characters actually exist in the MCU. Even so, only Matt Murdock and Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle have been confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again.
There has been a huge amount of speculation regarding the returns of Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones, with each of them commenting on a potential reprisal of their Defenders Saga heroes in the MCU's future. Daredevil: Born Again could be the best place for the Defenders to come back together, particularly since Wilson Fisk's plans for New York could affect every street-level hero operating in the city. Marvel Studios could even take the opportunity to flesh out the Defenders team with other notable heroes, making them a permanent addition to the MCU.

4 Sam Wilson’s Captain America Sam Wilson First Appeared In Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) Close Despite being one of the MCU's most crucial and central superheroes, Captain America is, at his core, a street-level hero. This means that Anthony Mackie's possible appearance as Sam Wilson's Captain America in Daredevil: Born Again could help to better establish him as Steve Rogers' successor, and bring some gravitas to the Phase 5 series. Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025, a month after Sam Wilson's return in Captain America: Brave New World, so the series could deal directly with the after-effects of the movie.
Sam Wilson officially became Captain America in 2021's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but he hasn't been seen or heard from since then. This has been a dire shame, especially since Steve Rogers' Captain America was one of the most consistent and regular fixtures of the MCU's Infinity Saga. It would be great to see Sam Wilson appear in more projects in the MCU's upcoming slate, particularly with Marvel Studios heading towards Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Daredevil: Born Again could begin to tease Matt Murdock's own evolution into an Avenger.

3 Valentina Allegra De Fontaine Valentina Allegra De Fontaine First Appeared In The Falcon & The Winter Soldier (2021) Close Ahead of her return in 2025's Thunderbolts*, Julia Louis-Dreyfus could appear as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in Daredevil: Born Again, especially given her cameo appearances in the MCU's previous projects. Valentina first appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, helping John Walker to become US Agent, before popping up in Black Widow's post-credits scene, which revealed Yelena Belova is already under her employ. 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever revealed Valentina to be the Director of the CIA, so her role in the MCU's future could be huge.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to explore a more political storyline than previous Daredevil-centric adventures in the MCU. This means more government officials could show up in the series, and this could include CIA Director Valentina. This could perhaps even see her learn of Matt Murdock's alter ego as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, and possibly even try to recruit him for her new superteam, the Thunderbolts. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a huge draw for the MCU, so it would be fantastic to see her extend her influence further than just Thunderbolts*.

2 Jennifer Walters’ She-Hulk Jennifer Walters First Appeared In She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (2022) Close Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters resides in Los Angeles, while Daredevil: Born Again will be set in New York City, which could make a cameo appearance from the MCU's She-Hulk unlikely. However, despite this distance, Matt Murdock's Daredevil still popped up in 2022's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, taking on a case in LA while collecting a new superhero suit from his designer, Luke Jacobson. Walters could easily take on a case in New York, allowing She-Hulk to make a brief cameo in Born Again, and perhaps rekindling the romance between Walters and Murdock.
Tatiana Maslany recently revealed that Jennifer Walters is "keeping her options open" when it comes to dating, and certainly isn't tied to Matt Murdock (via Agents of Fandom). However, she also mentioned that she's "pretty sure" that She-Hulk would "tap that again," meaning an appearance from Maslany in Daredevil: Born Again could be very likely. With no sign of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 2, it would be great to see Jennifer Walters appear in Daredevil: Born Again instead, perhaps setting her up for a bigger role in Phase 6's Avengers movies.
1 Peter Parker’s Spider-Man Peter Parker First Appeared In Captain America: Civil War (2016) Close The most exciting character who could appear in Daredevil: Born Again is certainly Tom Holland's Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man. Charlie Cox made his first official MCU appearance in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, acting as Peter Parker's lawyer after his identity was revealed and he was framed for Mysterio's attack on London. It would be brilliant if Tom Holland returns the favor, and this could work wonderfully now that Spider-Man has reverted to an anonymous, street-level hero helping the residents of New York – just like Daredevil.
Matt Murdock and Peter Parker could become new partners in crime in the MCU's future.
Daredevil and Spider-Man have teamed up on many occasions in Marvel Comics, so it would be amazing to see this partnership brought to life in the MCU. Rights disputes between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures may make it difficult for Spider-Man to appear in Daredevil: Born Again, even though this would be an incredible and exciting inclusion. Daredevil has also been speculated to have a role in the MCU's upcoming Spider-Man 4, so Matt Murdock and Peter Parker could become new partners in crime in the MCU's future.
Daredevil: Born Again CrimeActionSuperheroThriller After Charlie Cox's cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdock his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again, composed of 18 episodes, serves as the spiritual successor to Netflix's three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU's main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero lawyer.
