Details of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Six, which will begin with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, are scarce, but the Disney+ series that has been confirmed for the phase promises to answer several essential questions. With the phase's plot tied in to the story of Avengers: Secret Wars, the adventures that take place within may be more unusual. Depending on what parts of the comic stories of the same name are adapted, the Phase may introduce concepts like the Battleworld and feature crossovers the likes of which have never been seen before in the MCU timeline.
Marvel phases have become a little less straightforward in recent years. While the first three phases each culminated in an Avengers film, Phases Four and Five do not have any of these teamups. While most Phase Five details are known, including the release of series like Agatha All Along and Ironheart, Phase Six is a little less clear. Two Avengers films, Blade, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps are confirmed for the phase, although few details on Disney+ series are available. However, one series has been confirmed which looks set to have major implications for the franchise.

The MCU's Vision Series Is Set To Give Definitive Answers To Three Major Years-Long Mysteries Vision Will Be Receiving A Series On Disney+ During Phase 6 Of The MCU Close The upcoming untitled Vision series, sometimes referred to as Vision Quest, is set to answer three questions in the MCU. The first is what happened with White Vision after the events of WandaVision. The newly constructed version of Vision gained the memories of his predecessor before flying off at the end of that series. This character and his path will inevitably be explored in the upcoming series.
The second question concerns the return of Ultron. The villainous force was tied to Vision in his creation – having crafted Vision's body with the intention of using it himself – and as such there is clearly a significant connection between the two. With the confirmation of James Spader returning to voice the character in the show, details regarding the Vision series become a little clearer. Audiences will be able to see the character of Ultron once again and catch up on details of what has occurred with him since Avengers: Age of Ultron, and how the villain has returned in the first place.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the question of Scarlet Witch's status in the MCU will certainly be addressed. Just as WandaVision began with Vision being dead and ended with him being resurrected, there is more potential here than ever to address Wanda's status in the MCU. If the character was ever meant to be brought back to life, it would surely occur in this new Vision series, or at least begin paving the way for a prospective revival.

While some theories suggest Wanda's resurrection in Agatha All Along could occur, the narrative of Wanda returning in a Vision series would make much more sense. Following Vision's resurrection in WandaVision, this would provide a level of satisfying narrative symmetry.
Vision's relationship with Wanda shaped so much of his character and humanity, making intertwining the pair's stories in this way make particular sense. Born from technology in Tony Stark's lab and animated with the Mind Stone, Vision's humanity, or lack of it, has been examined somewhat in the MCU, but it was not until his romance with Wanda that he began to truly understand that which he represented. Wanda will certainly be an important figure in White Vision's further development alive or dead, and the Vision series would be the ideal place to explore their bond.

1 Ultron's MCU Return Can Shed Light On The Avengers Sequel Movie Over A Decade After Its Release James Spader Is Confirmed To Return As Ultron In The Vision Series Close Avengers: Age of Ultron is one of the most underrated films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and any opportunity to revisit that film's events is worth taking. While there has been some criticism surrounding the movie, little of that criticism has been pointed at the effectiveness of its villain or the performance of James Spader. Spader provides a dark, commanding presence to the metallic threat of Ultron, with just enough of Tony Stark's sarcasm and spunk. A dedicated AI presence that wishes to eradicate humanity makes sense in the MCU, and it will be exciting to see that explored further.
Ross Marquand previously replaced Spader as the voice for Ultron and the Ultron Sentries in their appearances in What If…? and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marquand also replaced Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull in Avengers: Endgame.
In addition, Vision and Ultron come from a similar place, having both been developed in part in Stark's lab. In essence, Ultron and Vision are two sides of the same digital coin, both bred from AI software but in support of opposite ends, which could make for an exciting dynamic between the pair in the upcoming Vision series. In addition, with the new White Vision differing in some aspects from his original self, it will be interesting to see if Ultron can influence him in some capacity, especially given the existential crisis White Vision has been shown experiencing.

The upcoming Vision series will clearly address several details in the MCU that have been left hanging, and have great potential to help shape the future of the franchise. The characters of Wanda and Ultron are important to the franchise, and both have not been explored enough for the full satisfaction of audiences. There is still a great deal of hope that Wanda is still alive, and the promise of seeing more of Ultron in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially in this era of developed AI, is promising. Hopefully the Vision series addresses all of these in a satisfying way.
