Summary
- Gwen Stacy's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse team deserves a live-action adaptation showcasing their vibrant personalities.
- Bringing these varied Spider-People into live-action could enhance the MCU and SSU with more diversity.
- Nicolas Cage is set to reprise his role of Spider-Man Noir in live-action, suggesting other Spider-Verse characters could follow suit.
Following Sony's animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie, a cosplay video proves just how brilliant Gwen Stacy's superhero could be if adapted into live-action. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse released as the follow-up to 2018's smash-hit Into the Spider-Verse, set outside the MCU, which introduced Miles Morales and several Spider-Man variants into the world of Sony Pictures Animation. One of these variants was Gwen Stacy's Spider-Woman, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, who had a much larger role in the 2023 sequel, even forming her own Spider-Man team.
Gwen Stacy's Spider-Man team in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comprised the likes of Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man: India, Peni Parker and SP//dr, Peter B. Parker and Spider-Punk, among others. Some of these heroes were imagined in a cosplay video shared by Akemikun in October 2023, which showed several Spider-Verse cosplayers having fun as their respective heroes. Putting these characters' vibrant personalities front-and-center, Akemikun proves that many of these Spider-Man variants deserve live-action adaptations.
Spider-Verse Cosplay Video Prove Its Spider-Man Cast Need A Live-Action Appearance Close The cosplay video fully demonstrates the personalities of the likes of Gwen Stacy's Spider-Woman, Hobie Brown's Spider-Punk, Pavitr Prabhakar's Spider-Man: India, Miles Morales' Spider-Man, Peter B. Parker's Spider-Man and Peni Parker. In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, these heroes, except Miles himself, were joined by Mayday Parker's Spider-Girl, Margo Kess' Spider-Byte, Peter Porker's Spider-Ham and Peter Parker's Spider-Man Noir, forming Gwen Stacy's formidable team. These heroes deserve live-action adaptations.
Hopefully other Spider-People will follow suit, allowing Peter Parker to gain some powerful friends.
Prior to the 2024 release of Madame Web, the only Spider-Person who had ever been adapted into live-action was Peter Parker's Spider-Man. It would be great to see more variety brought into the live-action franchises of Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Madame Web's Spider-Women could also do with some redemption. Bringing Gwen Stacy's Spider-Verse team into live-action would be a great way to show the many different sides and variations of Spider-People across the multiverse.
Related 12 Versions Of Spider-Man Still Missing From The Spider-Verse Movies Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse debuted dozens of versions of Spider-Man, but there are still many who haven"t been adapted from Marvel Comics.
Each team member is wildly different from the one before, with each bringing a fresh and exciting perspective into their heroic careers. This would be amazing to see in live-action, especially since the live-action MCU has been exploring the multiverse in great detail in recent years. Nicolas Cage has been confirmed to be reprising his role of Spider-Man Noir in a new live-action series, so hopefully other Spider-People will follow suit, allowing Peter Parker to gain some powerful friends in the MCU or SSU's futures, perhaps even Miles Morales from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
