San Diego Comic-Con gave Marvel fans a lot of news to digest, one of which is the reveal of the title of 2025's Fantastic Four film, Fantastic 4: First Steps. The exclusive footage, which was filmed just for SDCC Hall H attendees, showcases the 1960s aesthetic. The title reveal comes just three days before the cast, comprised of Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm), is set to film.
Matt Shakman, who also directed the well-received WandaVision, will be directing Fantastic Four: First Steps. He has also directed episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Boys, Game of Thrones, and The Great. There is no doubt he is a talented director who will bring something fresh to these characters, which is what Marvel fans are hoping for. Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to be released on July 25, 2025.

2 Screen Rant interviewed Matt Shakman at San Diego Comic-Con about the upcoming film. He confirms that the 1960s aesthetic from the footage will carry over to the film itself. Matt also reveals who he thinks the anchor being of 616 is. Anchor beings were established in Deadpool & Wolverine as someone whose death would cause the death of their entire timeline.

Screen Rant: I'm so excited for this movie. I've got to know, is it going to look like that '60s style that we see?
Matt Shakman: Yeah. I mean, that's a big inspiration for the movie, so we are doing our homework.
Screen Rant: Deadpool & Wolverine the importance of anchor beings and said if one dies, their universe dies out. Who do you think is the anchor being of 616?
Matt Shakman: Oh, gosh. I don't know. For 616, I'd have to say the Scarlet Witch. My girl, Wanda.
