Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's box office receives a major update as the Marvel Studios movie secures a China release date. The Marvel Cinematic Universe's box office dominance dropped during Phase 4, as only one movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, made over $1 billion. One of the big challenges that Marvel Studios encountered was not being able to release the most recent MCU movies in China. Guardians of the Galaxy 3's approaching release has started discussions about its box office potential, with most expecting James Gunn's trilogy capper to be a big win for Marvel Studios with mass appeal around the world.
The likelihood of Guardians of the Galaxy 3's box office being a hit has now increased. According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has secured a China release for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The Phase 5 MCU movie is slated to release in China on May 5, the same day it launches in America and other international territories. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 becomes the third straight MCU movie to receive a China release, following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
