MCU Producer Responds To Theory Kang Connects To Shang-Chi"s Ten Rings
Producer Stephen Broussard comments on the ongoing theory about Shang-Chi's Ten Rings potentially connecting to Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga. After the success of the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios is in the process of setting up another culminating event with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania officially debuted Kang, but the threequel revealed very little about the MCU's new big bad.
That being said, a theory inspired by how Marvel Studios set up the Infinity Saga culmination claims that Shang-Chi's Ten Rings are tied to Kang. When asked about this during his recent guest appearance on Inside Disney podcast, Broussard downplays the idea, saying that, at this point, each film's concept is largely a standalone idea. "I wouldn’t read too much into it at this point. I’m afraid that’s kind of a tricky question to answer, because if I’m like, ‘Stay tuned,’ you might read more into that, you know? But, when we made 'Quantumania,' it was just about that. Any connectivity down the road, I can’t really speak to, because I don’t really know where that’s heading. But it’s a standalone idea for this more than whatever is in stage for another 'Shang-Chi,' should that happen, or 'Kang Dynasty.' It was purely the milieu of this movie."
