One of the MCU's oldest teases could finally be explained during Loki season 2. Marvel Studios has always included Easter eggs and references to past projects and the Marvel Comics source material in their live-action MCU, and now that the concept of time travel and alternate realities has been introduced, there's a chance these old teases could be revisited and better explained in-universe. Phase 5 could delve into some of these mysteries, particularly in the upcoming second season of Loki on Disney+, set to see Tom Hiddleston's Loki and Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius journey through time to learn more about the MCU's newest villain, Kang the Conqueror.
While a short teaser trailer has already been released for Loki season 2, the post-credits scenes of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania gave audiences a greater insight into the coming adventure for the titular God of Mischief. The idea of multiversal variants was introduced to the MCU back in Loki season 1, which saw Loki come face-to-face with several of his own variants, as well as the mysterious He Who Remains, who explained that his variants pose a huge threat to the cosmos. One of these variants, Victor Timely, has been confirmed for Loki season 2, and his debut can explain one of Marvel Studios' earliest references in the MCU.
