Scarlett Johansson has responded to rumors that Black Widow and the original six Avengers could return for an upcoming MCU project. A few weeks ago, a report from Variety about the current state of the MCU suggested that the studio discussed bringing back the original Avengers. While members of this group are still active within the universe, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Natasha Romanoff are either dead or retired.
In an interview with Today this morning, Johansson addressed these rumors when asked about them by host Savannah Guthrie. Johansson had no awareness of any plans to bring her back and joked that if she were to return, it would have to be a "zombie film." She also confirmed Black Widow is dead after sacrificing herself on Vormir to get the Soul Stone in Avengers: Endgame.

Guthrie: I don't know, but you know – Marvel, they always find a way. Can you confirm or deny anything about this?
Johansson: I think it might be… I think it was the end, right? I don't know how you come back from that.
Guthrie: Did she die?
Johansson: She did, she did. She passed.
Guthrie: I just want to be clear – I'm not going to force it, but this is not a response to the question of whether she's reviving back to life.
Johansson: I would have… it would be a miracle. It would be real Marvel miracle. It would be a marvel. But, you know, who knows? Eh… I'm not sure.
