The next major villain facing the MCU might have already been introduced during Phase 5's Loki season 2, according to this new game-changing theory. Loki season 2 premiered on October 5, 2023, picking up where season 1 left off, in the wake of He Who Remains' death and the unraveling of the Sacred Timeline. These events caused catastrophe at the Time Variance Authority (TVA), as Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Owen Wilson's Mobius, and MCU newcomer Ke Huy Quan's Ouroboros, a.k.a. OB, set out to mend the Temporal Loom and bring order back to the newly-released multiverse. With Loki season 2's finale still yet to release, however, more twists should be expected.
After Loki season 2, episode 4's dramatic cliffhanger ending, which saw the Temporal Loom explode, Loki season 2, episode 5, "Science/Fiction," saw Loki regain his time-slipping ability, and journey through time to meet the original variants of his TVA crew. Mobius is Don, a jet-ski salesman, Wunmi Mosaku's Hunter B-15 is Dr. Verity Willis, a New York pediatrician, Eugene Cordero's Casey is Frank Morris, an Alcatraz prisoner and escapee, and Ouroboros is A. D. Doug, a science fiction author and acclaimed physicist. While Loki's team reformed to face the spaghettification of various branching realities, however, a secret villain may be hiding in their midst, according to a new MCU theory.

Currently, Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror and his villainous variants are being set up as the major antagonists of the MCU's Multiverse Saga. However, it seems the Avengers' battle against Kang will come to a head in 2026's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which creates the opportunity for an even stronger villain to take his place for the Multiverse Saga's final project. Since the Beyonder is a crucial foe in Marvel Comics' Secret Wars events, this cosmic entity may be the perfect candidate.

In Marvel Comics' original Secret Wars storyline in 1984, the Beyonder plucks a selection of the Marvel Universe's heroes and villains from their lives, and brings them to Battleworld for an epic skirmish. During 2015's Secret Wars event – which the MCU's Multiverse Saga is taking inspiration from – the Beyonder is revealed to be from a race of extra-dimensional beings, the Beyonders. Doctor Doom steals the power of the Beyonders to create Battleworld from the fragmented pieces of destroyed realities, and there have been hints throughout Loki season 2 that Ouroboros may be a member of this higher-dimensional species, and could be set up as Secret Wars' true villain.
