Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson could be leaving the character behind soon, as a new report claims the Marvel Cinematic Universe actress is disillusioned with the role. Larson's first movie as Carol Danvers was a major success, with 2019's Captain Marvel totaling over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. However, many toxic groups emerged to attack the movie and Larson, and the hurtful comments have not stopped since. Now, new information suggests The Marvels' story could be the final one for Larson as Captain Marvel.
According to the MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios book, Larson "grew disillusioned" with her role. That is backed up by one of the book's writers, Joanna Robinson, on The Watch podcast. According to Robinson, "[Marvel Studios] put Brie Larson in [a prominent place in the MCU]. I don't know if Brie Larson was the wrong person for the role, necessarily. But the toxic backlash means that Brie Larson doesn't want to play Carol Danvers anymore." The Marvels' cast is already receiving the same toxic comments before the movie's release. Check out the excerpt from the book below:

"The future of those Marvel icons was unclear. The departure of franchise anchors like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson had already taken its toll, as had the shocking loss of Chadwick Boseman, but other MCU stalwarts were heading for the exits. The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ cast went on a farewell tour, Brie Larson grew disillusioned, and Marvel tussled with Sony in a custody battle over Tom Holland."
