Blade Cutting Black Knight Avoids A Massive MCU Problem
Recent reports indicate that Marvel's upcoming Blade film has cut Kit Harrington's Black Knight, which would avoid a glaring MCU problem if proven true. A Blade film was officially announced as part of the MCU as early as 2019, with highly-acclaimed actor Mahershala Ali playing the titular role. Since then, the film has undergone a tumultuous production, with multiple rewrites, director changes, and even a release date alteration taking place.
Despite the film's turbulent production, the most recent script rewrite from Michael Starrbury and new director Yann Demange means filming for Blade is scheduled to begin in May 2023. Thus far, Blade has only made one voice cameo in the MCU as part of Eternals' post-credits scene, with Black Knight reportedly part of the Blade solo film as a result. However, recent reports from Jeff Sneider on THE HOT MIC indicate that the latest draft of Blade's script does not include Dane Whitman at all.
