  • The cameos include major and minor Fox Marvel heroes and villains, as well as one of the most popular MCU actors with a fun twist.

Deadpool & Wolverine featured many Fox Marvel character cameos, and some of them had been revealed prior to the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie's release, while others were as shocking as they come. Spearheaded by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine's all-star cast included the return of actors from past Fox Marvel movies, as well as stars finally getting the chance to play roles they had long been imagined as.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness faced criticism for the number of different universes it visited and the cameos that were included. Well, Deadpool & Wolverine's intense multiverse story was perfect to bring in some shocking cameos, honoring the Fox Marvel legacy, with some more surprising than others.

2 8 Tyler Mane's Sabretooth Wolverine's Nemesis Close Sabretooth could not be left out of Deadpool & Wolverine. Victor Creed is Wolverine's number one villain in the comics, and with Hugh Jackman choosing to come back as Logan, it was only fitting that he fought Sabretooth again on the big screen. The character's cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine did not remain a surprise for long, as Tyler Mane's Sabretooth and his fight with Jackman's Wolverine were caught in Deadpool & Wolverine set photos. Having leaked early, Marvel then decided to use Sabretooth in the movie's trailers.
Sabretooth was only in the movie for a brief time, with Wolverine making quick work of the character as they fought, and Logan took off his head with his Adamantium claws. What was interesting is the MCU team's choice to use Mane's version of Sabretooth over Liev Schreiber's, which is considerably more popular. Perhaps the decision was made based on how much time Sabretooth would have in Deadpool & Wolverine, as fans would likely have been upset if Schreiber showed up only to be unceremoniously killed.

7 Aaron Stanford's Pyro The Villain Played A Bigger Role Than Expected Close Another returning actor from Fox's original X-Men movies was Aaron Stanford, whose Pyro was revealed in the trailers for the MCU movie. Pyro had an interesting role to play in Deadpool & Wolverine. The character seemed like Cassandra Nova's top lieutenant in the Void but was working for two different sides, as the double agent conspired with the TVA's Mr. Paradox. Pyro also had an impressive fight sequence, well, not really a fight, as he barely broke a sweat to control one of the members of the Fantastic Four — Johnny Storm.
That brief altercation showed Deadpool, Wolverine, and the audience that Pyro was not someone to be taken lightly. Stanford was great in the role, with the actor now bringing an even darker edge to the character when compared to his previous appearances as the X-Men villain. Since Stanford had last played Pyro in the controversial X-Men: The Last Stand, it was good to see him again in the role in a movie that should prove itself to be universally beloved.

6 Dafne Keen's X-23 An Emotional Return From Logan Close Deadpool & Wolverine's final trailer spoiled one of the movie's biggest returning characters, as Dafne Keen reprised her role as X-23 from Logan. It was touching to see Keen back not just as a random variant of the character but an older version of the Laura seen opposite Jackman's Wolverine in Logan. X-23 was as cool as ever, with Keen never missing a beat in the role. The character was part of some of the movie's most emotional scenes, giving Jackman's new Wolverine a much-needed heart-to-heart that led to him becoming the best version of himself.
From the moment she appeared until the end of the film, Keen showed that Marvel would be wise to use her X-23 more in the future. It was interesting that Deadpool & Wolverine's ending saw X-23 join Wade Wilson, Logan, and Deadpool's friends at a celebratory dinner. Maybe that is Marvel's way of teasing that X-23 will be back, appearing alongside Deadpool and Wolverine whenever they show up next in the MCU.

3 5 Jennifer Garner's Elektra The Marvel Character Is Redeemed Close The crew behind Deadpool & Wolverine did their best to keep the movie's biggest cameos a secret, but the return of Jennifer Garner's Elektra ended up being a special case. Long before set photos and rumors started to be disseminated, Garner's Elektra was reported to appear in the movie. The news was never confirmed by Marvel or the actress, with no sign of Garner's return as her Marvel character until she showed up onscreen in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Despite being reported to appear early on, the reveal that Garner was in the movie still packed quite a punch, with the character being one of the members of the Resistance fighting against Cassandra Nova in the Void. After Garner's Elektra solo movie bombed at the box office many years ago, it was exciting to see the actress rewrite history on the big screen, delivering a fierce and thrilling performance that is sure to turn many people's opinions on her version of Elektra around by the end of Deadpool & Wolverine.

4 Wesley Snipes' Blade The MCU Has A Blade At Last — Sort Of Close While the MCU can't seem to get its Blade movie right, with the project losing multiple directors and having the script be rewritten from scratch, Deadpool & Wolverine included Wesley Snipes' iconic Daywalker. Despite rumors having circled for years that Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and Snipes feuded on the set of Blade: Trinity, the actor came back to appear alongside Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine, with both Blade and Deadpool making jokes about those rumors.
Snipes has always maintained that he is the only actor fit to play Blade in live-action, which is something that the MCU movie touched on, as Blade said there will always be only one of him. Snipes' return was a major surprise, even though the actor had been teasing a possible return on social media. While the MCU's Blade movie with Mahershala Ali does not get off the ground, at least fans got to remember why Snipes' Blade was so iconic, with the character having violent fight scenes and fun chemistry with the other members of the Resistance in Deadpool & Wolverine.

3 Channing Tatum's Gambit Marvel Finally Lets The Actor Play His Dream Hero Close Channing Tatum finally got the chance to play his Marvel dream role. The actor was cast as Gambit ten years ago to lead a solo movie as the X-Men member. However, after years in development hell with directors and writers departing the project, Tatum's Gambit film was killed when Disney bought Fox. Since Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had other plans for the X-Men, it seemed like Tatum would never be able to play Gambit, a character he has always said he loved dearly.
Thankfully, Deadpool & Wolverine allowed Tatum to play Gambit in one of the movie's most shocking cameos. The actor did great in the role, with every second he was onscreen showing just how much fun Tatum was having as Gambit. Marvel Studios gave him a comic book-accurate costume, with Tatum doing Remy LeBeau's signature Cajun accent. Tatum's Gambit movie was going to be R-rated, so it is fitting that the actor played the hero in Deadpool & Wolverine, with his character being the focus of several hilarious jokes.

2 Henry Cavill's Wolverine From Superman To The MCU Close Few actors could have made as much of a splash with a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine compared to Henry Cavill. The star has given life to the most iconic superhero of all time, DC's Superman. However, after years of controversial releases and decisions in the DCEU, Cavill was replaced as the Man of Steel, with David Corenswet set to play Clark Kent in director James Gunn's upcoming Superman reboot for the new DC Universe.
With Cavill out of DC, many fans had been asking for the star to make the jump to Marvel. Cavill became one of the most popular fancastings to play the MCU's Wolverine, and just like was the case for John Krasinski's role as a multiverse version of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Kevin Feige showed that he was listening to the fans. Cavill had a brief cameo as Logan in Deadpool & Wolverine, which included the mutant's signature cigar and Cavill's famous fist reload motion from Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Cavill looked pitch-perfect as Wolverine.

1 Chris Evans' Human Torch The Biggest Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo Close While Deadpool & Wolverine featured many exciting cameos from Fox's Marvel movies, no appearance was bigger than the return of the MCU's Captain America star Chris Evans. Deadpool & Wolverine knew just how to play with fans' expectations. Early on in the movie, a scene in the TVA establishes Deadpool's respect for Captain America. When Evans appears in the Void wearing a cloak that masks his face and costume, Deadpool and the audience are led to believe that the actor is back as Captain America after having left the MCU in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.
That is where the fun begins, as Evans shouts "Flame On" to reveal that he is actually back as his version of Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, from the 2000s Fantastic Four movies. While Evans is not in the movie for long, his presence elevates the project, with the actor back to his sarcastic Johnny Storm, offering a stark contrast from his Captain America. Getting Evans back was one of the biggest moves Deadpool & Wolverine could have made, with the surprise factor and the actor's hilarious performance making the Human Torch the film's best Fox Marvel cameo.
Deadpool & Wolverine R A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
