Marvel"s Phase 6 Already Has The Best Villain Roster The MCU Has Ever Seen

Marvel Studios has already confirmed some of the strongest villains in comic book history for Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's difficult for Marvel Studios to continuously best itself, especially when it repeatedly delivers incredibly successful projects such as Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home and, more recently, Deadpool & Wolverine. Even so, it seems the MCU's Phase 6 will become the most popular chapter of the franchise yet, with help from its powerful villains.
Every good superhero story needs a formidable adversary for the hero to battle, and Marvel Studios has adapted some of the strongest, most relatable and most entertaining villains from Marvel Comics into the live-action MCU. Since 2008's Iron Man debuted Obadiah Stane's Iron Monger and teased the Ten Rings, villains in the MCU have only grown more powerful. This will culminate in some of Marvel Comics' most iconic and recognizable antagonists rearing their heads in Phase 6, introducing more top tier villains to the franchise than ever before.

Phase 6's MCU Villains Are Top Tier Following the confirmation that James Spader will be returning as Ultron in Marvel Television's upcoming Phase 6 Vision series, there's no denying that the MCU's Phase 6 has set up the most impressive villain roster in the franchise's history. Ultron was first seen in Phase 2's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and deserved a lot more than being just a one-and-done villain, so it will be great to see this formidable villain return. However, the robot tyrant won't be the most powerful foe in Phase 6, as Marvel Studios has teased some more of Marvel Comics' most terrifying supervillains.
First, 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the first project in Phase 6, will introduce the planet-eater Galactus to the MCU, voiced by Ralph Ineson. Galactus is one of Marvel's most threatening villains, as he could simply devour the Earth, but even he may not stand a chance against Phase 6's primary antagonist. After playing Tony Stark's Iron Man for over a decade, Robert Downey Jr. has now been cast as Victor Von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom. Perhaps Marvel's most significant and complex villain, Doctor Doom ensures Phase 6 will be the most dramatic and spectacular era of the MCU.

How Phase 6's Villains Compare To Other Phases Close While some of Marvel's most powerful villains have also been seen in Phases 1 through 5 of the MCU, there have never been so many top tier supervillains seen in such a short time period. Throughout the Infinity Saga, the MCU mostly focused on smaller-scale villains, such as Abomination, Whiplash, Malekith, Yellowjacket, Kaecilius and Killmonger. This allowed the franchise to build up to the huge reveal of Josh Brolin's Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, who has, funnily enough, also been speculated to return in the MCU's Phase 6.

Of course, villains such as Loki and Hela, and the Multiverse Saga's Ten Rings, Celestials, High Evolutionary, Kingpin, Cassandra Nova and Kang the Conqueror (and his variants) could rival the villains set to appear in Phase 6. With Avengers: Secret Wars expected to explore the multiverse in more detail than ever before, it's possible all these villains and more could join Doctor Doom. This would make Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe even more terrifying and dangerous than it already is.
