Chris Hemsworth praises Deadpool & Wolverine for its box office success with a Thor reference. Deadpool & Wolverine's cameos, returning characters, multiverse story, R-rated action, and more contributed to the movie becoming one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest hits. The 2024 MCU film has already passed the $1 billion mark, breaking records, and Deadpool & Wolverine has now been praised by Hemsworth, another MCU record-holder, as the Thor actor is the star with the most solo movies in the franchise.
On Twitter, Chris Hemsworth congratulated Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for the movie breaking records, all while remembering his cameo as Thor.
The MCU film has broken several records, becoming the biggest R-rated movie ever. Hemsworth shared a new Deadpool & Wolverine TV spot that features moments from the movie where Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson sees Thor crying over himself in a scene from the future and then keeps asking people throughout the movie, "Why was Thor crying?." Be the end of Deadpool & Wolverine, the answer to that mystery is not revealed.

Why Was Thor Crying In Deadpool & Wolverine? The Moment Could Come In A Couple Of Movies Close Hemsworth did not actually shoot any new scenes as Thor for Deadpool & Wolverine. Instead, the movie repurposed footage from when Thor is crying over a dying Loki in Thor: The Dark World. However, that does not mean that the cameo carries any less significance. While the moment is used as a running gag in Deadpool & Wolverine, Thor's cameo could connect to a moment from one of a few possible future MCU movies.
In Deadpool & Wolverine, Wade Wilson sees Thor crying over himself on one of the TVA's monitors. Deadpool has half of his mask ripped off, and it looks like he is hurt. Matthew Macfadyen's TVA agent, Mr. Paradox, then tells Wade that he was not supposed to have seen that and that the moment happens in the "distant future." That tease could be paid off when Thor and Deadpool meet each other in the MCU, which points to two announced Marvel movies.
Thor and Deadpool could meet either in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. The first movie will feature over 60+ returning characters, and the second is expected to have the largest cast of any Marvel live-action production ever. The reason Thor was crying in Deadpool & Wolverine could be revealed in one of the Avengers movies, with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool possibly dying in the battle against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. Alternatively, it might be a misdirect, with Thor not knowing about Deadpool's healing factor and crying as he thinks Wade will die, only for Deadpool to wake up fine.
Deadpool & Wolverine R A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
