Netflix"s Biggest Spider-Man Movies Revealed By New Data

Summary
- Spider-Man: Far From Home is the most popular Spider-Man movie on Netflix, with 19.5 million viewing hours.
- Spider-Man: Homecoming's ranking appears lower due to its data being split between the standard and extended editions.
- Older Spider-Man movies, like Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 3 (2007), are still popular among Netflix audiences.
Netflix has revealed viewing data for all of its movies and TV shows, painting a picture of which Spider-Man movies are really most popular with audiences. The streaming platform has not historically revealed such specific data, but the company's first "What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report" details viewing hours between January and June 2023. Included is data on 11 Spider-Man movies, including 10 full feature films and 1 animated LEGO short.
The data from Netflix's website may be surprising, as Spider-Man movies old and new seem somewhat equally interspliced in the rankings. Interestingly, it's Tom Holland's second solo Spidey movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, that takes the top spot with 19.5 million viewing hours. View the complete ranking and viewership data below:
Movie
Hours Viewed Between Jan and June 2023
Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
19,500,000
Spider-Man (2002)
16,000,000
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
15,900,000
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
12,500,000
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
12,200,000
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
12,000,000
Spider-Man: No Way Home (Extended Version) (2021)
10,700,000
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
10,400,000
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
7,000,000
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
6,500,000
LEGO Marvel Spider-Man: Vexed by Venom (2019)
800,000
Worth noting is that Spider-Man: Homecoming having its data split between the standard and extended editions of the film makes it appear to rank lower than it really is. The two versions of the film added together would rank it second beyond only Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Netflix Data Confirms Why Tobey Maguire Has To Return As Spider-Man Close Tobey Maguire's tenure as Spider-Man remains iconic, and Netflix's data proves that his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home can't be the last time this version of the Wall Crawler appears on the big screen. Given the popularity of newer projects like the Spider-Verse movies and other Spidey films in the MCU, it's impressive that Raimi's Spider-Man movies outrank them all except one. Even 21 years after Spider-Man (2002), there's likely interest in more stories for Maguire's Spider-Man.
Fortunately, revisiting Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker seems more viable now than any other time after his trilogy came to a close. The MCU is building up to Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027, which is expected to feature characters from all over the Marvel multiverse. If he's willing, it seems perfectly possible for Maguire to make one more Spider-Man appearance in the epic team-up movie.
