Nearly half a year later, Tom Holland has finally shared a new update on Spider-Man 4 as the actor eyes his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since the SAG-AFTRA strike ended this fall, an endless amount of movies and TV shows have been able to go back into development or production. One of them is Spider-Man 4, which Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are eying as a potential sequel trilogy for Holland's Peter Parker.
Ever since the Spider-Man: No Way Home ending set up a new era for the wall-crawler, the MCU audience has been trying to predict what story Spider-Man 4 will tell. In a new interview with Collider, Holland opened up about where he and the studios are at with Spider-Man 4. While not offering an update on when the movie might release, Holland made it clear that he, Sony Pictures, and Marvel Studios are "actively engaging in conversations" about the next Spider-Man movie, sharing the following:

All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.
