Summary

  • Daredevil will make his return in the Marvel streaming series Echo, which promises a darker and more violent tone, similar to Netflix's Daredevil.
  • Echo's first trailer showcases an R-rated (TV-MA) rating, highlighted by intense fight scenes and the brutal aftermath of the action.
  • Daredevil: Born Again could benefit from adopting the tone and fight scenes of Echo, considering the success and popularity of Netflix's Daredevil.

Daredevil will return in the Marvel streaming series Echo, and it already looks perfect for The Man Without Fear's next MCU story. Following Daredevil's popular Netflix and the cross-over show The Defenders, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock will return in the MCU's upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. With both Matt Murdock and his arch-nemesis Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) first returning in 2024's Echo, the series looks like a major change from their post-Netflix cameo roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Echo focuses upon the deaf Native American protagonist Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), who crosses paths with D'Onofrio's Kingpin again after their previous brutal showdown in Disney+'s Hawkeye series (which raises questions about how Kingpin is still alive after Hawkeye.) Echo will debut simultaneously on both Disney+ and Hulu, but that's not the only attribute to stand out in its forthcoming release. Based on the first trailer for Echo, the show will also take on a much darker, more violent tone and style right in line with Netflix's Daredevil.
