Moon Knight Season 2: Cast Comments, Possible Story & Everything We Know

Summary

  • Moon Knight season 2 is uncertain due to Marvel's usual format of six-episode series, but there is still potential for the hero's return in other series or even a feature film.
  • Oscar Isaac has discussed the future of Moon Knight with Marvel, suggesting his commitment to the character if a second season does happen.
  • The ending of season 1 sets up potential storylines for season 2, including further exploration of Layla's new abilities.

Moon Knight season 2 is left on far more unpredictable ground than even its initial open-ended season 1 conclusion suggested for the MCU show. Moon Knight's season 1 ending left a lot of hints that suggested the story would continue. The brief glimpse of new alter Jake Lockley, for example, more than hinted at Moon Knight returning for another season. Other character's arcs, such as Layla becoming the Scarlet Scarab in the finale, more than warranted delving into further with a new Moon Knight season.
Moon Knight season 1 was well received and now has a loyal fanbase, but Moon Knight season 2 is yet to appear on the upcoming Marvel Disney+ show slate. Indeed, recent revelations from the show's director suggest it may never appear on said slate, due to the overarching plans for the MCU timeline. However, this is far from set in stone, as the reconfiguration the franchise is set to go through could actually bode well for Moon Knight's possible show future.
