Initially, Loki redeemed himself by saving Asgardians and fighting alongside Thor, the Hulk, and Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, but this version of the character met his demise only moments later. However, the Avengers' Time Heist in Endgame allowed a version of Loki from 2012 to escape, only to be captured by the Time Variance Authority and thrust into his first solo MCU adventure in Loki on Disney+. This rushed him through another redemption story, and made a reunion with Thor even more likely.
