The Punisher"s MCU Return Could Mean The End For One Avenger

Jon Bernthal's return as The Punisher in the MCU could eventually see him replace one armored Avenger. Bernthal debuted as Frank Castle a.k.a. the Punisher, in Netflix's Daredevil season 2 opposite Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. But while Netflix's shows had an ambiguous place in MCU canon, the same won't be the case for his next appearance, which will come in the Phase 5 Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again.
The integration of Frank Castle into the MCU creates the opportunity for the infamous antihero to appear alongside some of Marvel Studios' established characters, potentially popping up in other projects just as Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio have done before him. Marvel Comics introduced the Punisher during 1974's The Amazing Spider-Man #129, and over his long career he's had adventures with the likes of Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Captain America, and more. However, it's one recent Marvel Comics storyline that could mark an important change in the Punisher's MCU character, and could set up the MCU's upcoming Armor Wars film.
