MJ Forgetting Peter Parker Means Holland Can Repeat 1 Big Maguire Story

The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home completely changed Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) life as he’s now all alone and starting over from scratch with no family, friends, and colleagues, but this big change means that the Marvel Cinematic Universe can repeat one big story from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man through MJ (Zendaya). Spider-Man: No Way Home was the MCU’s first multiversal adventure, bringing villains from past Spider-Man movies into the MCU along with Peter’s variants from Sam Raimi’s trilogy and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man movies, but in order to prevent an even bigger multiversal conflict, Holland’s Spider-Man had to make a huge sacrifice that left him completely alone.
At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter realized that the only way to stop more enemies from other parts of the multiverse to cross over into the MCU was to cast a spell that would make the world forget Peter Parker. Doctor Strange successfully cast this spell and the gates to the multiverse were closed, sending all those villains and variants back to their respective universes, but it also meant that Peter’s friends and colleagues no longer know who he is, which was especially heartbreaking as he no longer has his girlfriend, MJ, and his best friend, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon). However, MJ not remembering Peter Parker can lead the MCU to mirror one big part of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man story in Spider-Man 4, as she still remembers Spider-Man.
