5 Ways Jon Bernthal"s Punisher Will Be Different In MCU"s Daredevil Show

Daredevil: Born Again is officially bringing Jon Bernthal's Punisher back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he might not be exactly the same as when he was last seen in Netflix's Defenders Saga. The gun-toting vigilante's MCU debut has been both highly anticipated and dreaded for years, amidst certain concerns about whether or not Marvel would tone down the character's more violent nature. While Marvel Studios and Jon Bernthal appear to be committed to remaining true to the Punisher's core character, it is reasonable to expect that some changes will be made in order for him to better fit the tone and scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Bernthal's Punisher first appeared in Netflix's Defenders Saga, making his debut in the second season of Daredevil. Although Frank Castle did not make an appearance in the crossover miniseries The Defenders, he did continue to serve an important role in Netflix's Marvel shows, starring in his own series, The Punisher, for two seasons. The Punisher proved to be some of the goriest, most violent content that Marvel has made to this day. Nevertheless, Bernthal's depiction of Frank Castle is generally believed to have captured the essence of the character quite well, a feat which the MCU will attempt to pull off again with his return in Daredevil: Born Again.
