The Marvels May Unlock The MCU"s Multiverse Story & Future

The Marvels may be the key to the MCU’s multiversal storytelling. Phase 5 is in full swing, and thanks to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania the Multiverse Saga has taken a considerable step forward. It not only introduced Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, but it then took him off the table, presumably temporarily, and introduced his variants, the Council of Kangs. Theories and rumors abound claiming they’ll be the main antagonists in various upcoming projects. Those theories work for some properties like Fantastic Four or Loki better than others, and The Marvels is among the latter.
The wait for The Marvels recently got longer after it was revealed that it is now releasing on November 10th. In tandem with the 2023 release schedule for MCU Disney+ shows, The Marvels’ delay proves that Marvel is learning from its Phase 4 mistakes. There were justifiable complaints that the relentless onslaught of content was not only causing fatigue among the fanbase but also affecting projects' overall quality, adding extreme pressure on VFX workers. Thankfully, they corrected course, so each project can have its special moment, which is what The Marvels needs. It will connect significant disparate storylines and in doing so, it may expand the multiverse exponentially.
