MCU Rumor May Reveal Bigger Role for Sacha Baron Cohen"s Mephisto
A new rumor indicates a much larger presence for Sacha Baron Cohen in the MCU as Mephisto across multiple Marvel Studios shows. Cohen's casting was first reported in October 2022, in connection with Marvel's upcoming Ironheart series. At the time, it was reported he could be playing Mephisto but neither Marvel nor anyone involved in the MCU have confirmed it. With the classic Marvel big bad having been teased for quite some time (since the beginning of the MCU's Phase 4), it's possible that an appearance from Mephisto may finally happen just as Marvel Studios has begun to explore the more supernatural regions of the MCU.
Insider Jeff Sneider shared on The Hot Mic podcast that he's heard Marvel Studios has begun filming a Mephisto special on the set of Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Not unlike the recent one-hour Halloween special Werewolf by Night starring Gael García Bernal, this potential Mephisto special has now joined the reports and rumors that the Demon Lord will have roles in both Ironheart and Agatha itself.
