Marvel Still Hasn"t Explained A Major Doctor Strange Mystery
One major mystery in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness still hasn't been properly explained by Marvel Studios. Benedict Cumberbatch had a huge role to play as Stephen Strange, a.k.a. Doctor Strange, in the MCU's Phase 4, appearing in both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness, two projects that introduced the full force of the multiverse into the MCU. Despite only debuting in Phase 3's Doctor Strange, the Master of the Mystic Arts has quickly become a pivotal character in the MCU, but Avengers: Infinity War seemed to show him losing his greatest weapon, the Time Stone and the Eye of Agamotto.
Cumberbatch returned in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness following on from the events of Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which saw the Thanos acquire the Time Stone, complete his mission, and then destroy it along with the five other Infinity Stones. Even so, Strange returned equipped with the Eye of Agamotto, the former housing unit of the Time Stone, without any explanation of how it functions without the gem. There was some confusion about how Strange could still use the Eye of Agamotto in the MCU's Phase 4, and Marvel Studios hasn't yet provided a clear answer as to how the relic could return.
