The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been shaken up by a number of complaints related to its most recent movie and TV releases, and the firing of longtime Marvel Studios producer Victoria Alonso is a big sign of the studio's current state of disarray. Alonso had been with Marvel since 2006, two years before Iron Man was released in theaters to resounding success and starting the MCU. Throughout a 17-year run, Alonso went through different roles at Marvel Studios, starting as a co-producer on Iron Man, moving on to executive producer on 2012's The Avengers; and becoming president of physical and postproduction, visual effects and animation production at Marvel.
