Ironheart"s Marvel Cameos Setup Can Connect 3 MCU Franchises

Several established MCU characters have been set up to cameo during Phase 5's Ironheart. Dominique Thorne debuted as Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ahead of her first solo adventure on Disney+ as part of the MCU's Phase 5. During Wakanda Forever, Williams took her place as Tony Stark's legacy hero in the MCU, donning a suit similar to the Iron Man armor and helping in the Wakandans' battle against Namor and his army of underwater Talokanil. While Ironheart is set to better explore the young genius' connection to the late Avenger, the series could also feature several cameos from returning MCU characters.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever saw Williams plucked from her dorm at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she had developed a device capable of tracking vibranium. Ironheart will see her back at MIT, which has been a prominent location featured in many MCU projects as the alma mater to a selection of heroes, most notably Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man. Since MIT is such an important location in the MCU, this setting for Ironheart creates the perfect opportunity for Marvel Studios to feature several cameos from already-established characters, who could aid in Williams in her first solo MCU series.
Iron Man & Spider-Man Have Connections To MIT While it's unlikely that Tony Stark himself will make a return appearance in Ironheart due to his sacrifice at the end of Avengers: Endgame, the fact that MIT was his alma mater means that Iron Man-adjacent characters could show their faces. After Stark established the September Foundation at MIT in Captain America: Civil War, it's possible that Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan could show up in Ironheart, perhaps making sure that Stark's legacy is being upheld. This could also include Rhodey, a.k.a. War Machine, as Williams has been using Stark tech to develop her armor, which connects directly to the storyline of Rhodey's upcoming Armor Wars project.
MIT was a key plot point in Phase 4's Spider-Man: No Way Home, as Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, and his friends, MJ and Ned, had ambitions of attending the university before the reveal of Spider-Man's identity thwarted their plans. It's confirmed towards the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, however, that MJ, Ned, and even Flash Thompson had been accepted into MIT, while Parker has been forgotten by the world. This means that Spider-Man's core group of friends could easily show up during Ironheart as fellow students alongside Riri Williams. Perhaps Williams' actions as Ironheart could even help the group remember their lost web-slinging friend.
Riri Williams Has Powerful Connections In Wakanda Riri Williams has already had an introduction into the world of superheroes in the MCU, battling alongside Shuri, the MCU's new Black Panther, and her army of Wakandan warriors in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She left Wakanda having made strong bonds with the likes of Shuri and Okoye, now a member of the Midnight Angels, and although she didn't get to keep her Wakandan-made Ironheart armor at the end of Wakanda Forever, it's possible that Shuri and Okoye could appear in Ironheart. Whether that be just checking up on Williams as a friend, or fighting alongside her, is yet to be seen.
